painted in a meticulous style, frequently requiring months of
careful application. I am reminded of the technical
qualities of the French surrealist painter Rene Magritte. The
Adelman paintings are not blatantly surrealistic as are
Magritte's, but there is, nevertheless, a subtle intensity in
the consistently hard edge style that conveys a haunting,
dreamlike quality."

Jeana Adelman
Jean
Mayo Adelman signs her paintings “Jeana.” She is a painter in
several media. She is best known for her acrylics, watercolors,
and pastels. In 2004 she won the “Best in Show Awards” for her
expressionist painting of an Arizona vista and in 2005 she was
awarded Best Oil or Acrylic by juror Paul Resika. Sam Barber
awarded her Best Oil or Acrylic for semi-abstract of Redbrook
Harbor in Bourne on Cape Cod.
